about
Music was the spark that ignited my fascination for creativity. I have found that this inspiration is the key to staying relevant as artist in today’s overly processed and saturated music environment. I want to give people the same feeling that I had the first time I watched a John Hughes film or listened to Michael Jackson’s ‘Thriller.’ In some ways I feel like it’s our duty to carry the torch for the great artists that have inspired us but are no longer with us. “TYOL” is a tribute to those artists and what they have done for us from a creative perspective. It’s a message of passion for genuine creativity and its ability to help people transcend the ‘muck’ we are presented with everyday. The selfies, the politics, the Kardashians, the pretending to have the time of your life on a boat somewhere. If there is one thing that music has done for us as a band is that it has allowed us envision a more optimistic future for ourselves. It has allowed us to play by our own rules and do something that truly matters even when nihilism appears so rampant. Whether you are gay, black, straight, lesbian, transgender, etc, everyone has the ability to do something meaningful with their lives. Play by your own rules, do something that matters to you, target your own love.
lyrics
You left me here in the black of night
You passed the torch you blew out the lights
And said you I know, you I know better than myself
You I know, you I know better than myself
Target your own love
Target your own love
When I was young I did not have a clue
Then you took me in your arms and said to wait for you
It's funny I know, it's funny I know how fast things change
But honey I thought, honey I thought they'd stay the same

Bandcamp is my favorite app. Without Bandcamp I would missed out on a lot of great music like Empathy Test! A wonderful album. Occasionally bombastic with nice synths and the voice of Isaac Howlett on top. Well done guys💪🏽 Fredschuit
